Great location

Great hotel close to all amenities. The room we had booked was good but lot smaller than we realised, so upgraded(very reasonable price) to larger twin which had everything we needed. Comfortable to come back to after a long day walking and siteseeing. Didn't have meals so can't comment on food, although passing restaurant in the morning was very noisy. Only downside was little self service snack shop was very expensive .

Not great

The hotel itself is clean and spacious, however the rooms are not up to the same standard. We booked a small double and at first stayed on the ground floor- the room was tiny, dusty and there were hairs and tobacco in the bed. The bathroom door was filthy and separated from the rest of the room by a glass door that did not lock. There was barely any light in the room and the lamps by the bed did not work. We asked to change rooms and the staff kindly moved us to a room on the fourth floor the following day. The new room was slightly bigger, but the shower and bathroom sink did not drain properly. There was dust everywhere and again the same issue of barely any natural light in the room. The one positive is it’s in a great location and we found it was not very noisy. Check in and check out was very easy and straightforward.

Really nice hotel In a good location

We had a great stay at this hotel. We paid for a superior twin room and was perfect, everywhere was clean, beds comfy and bathroom had essentials. Only thing we did notice is the shower glass isn’t very effective as after a shower water was all over the floor. The hotel is very nice and modern, we only ate at the breakfast buffet and it was really nice a good selection of food. Loved the addition of the pool and air hokey table. Having a shop in the hotel is really good for essentials and snacks however it is very expensive in there, 2 bottles of water and a packets of crisps was $13 ( however everywhere in Amsterdam is expensive). The staff are really nice, the man at the front desk when we arrived was so welcoming and looked very happy. The hotel is in such a good location as well, a short walk to everything, no need to take the metro or a taxi. All in all was a really nice hotel in a very good location and would recommend to people!

Poor focus on guest health but excellent focus on making money.

Regime of room cleaning on 3rd day only resulted in - Dirty coffee cups in rooms day 1 never collected for 3 days . Dirty towels not collected. Shower base grubby and mold growing ( room 256 ) due to lack of disinfectant and not cleaned. Internet out of action day 3. Bed too big for room. No space for two adults suitcases for 3 day stay. No pillow or mattress protection covers - come on - why should we sleep on grubby non protected pillows ? Focus on making money in every aspect we could see. 26 euro for a bottle of wine in the un-manned, zero service hotel shop - outside the same wine cost 10 euro - come on guys - it sickened me. Great front piece of drama but nothing to entice us to return. Yes everything is a rip off in capital cities and this hotel is sadly just another one of them.

Nice area and nice view

We rented one of the family rooms in a separate building. The stairs were steep like they warn on their website so be aware if you have mobility issues. One thing I didn’t notice from the website is that the room is on two different floors. Not a big deal but it’s not as roomy and the pictures lead you to believe. Loved the view out the front window and watching the boats go down the canal. And there was a small deck off the kitchen looking over an inner courtyard that was wonderful for having a cup of coffee in the morning and a glass of wine at the end of the day. The only reason I don’t give 5 stars is that there was no door on the shower room! When renting a family room you would expect some privacy when having a shower. It was a pain having to make sure no one went upstairs to the shower room level when someone was in the shower. A door or curtain for the room would be much better!
