Really nice hotel In a good location

We had a great stay at this hotel. We paid for a superior twin room and was perfect, everywhere was clean, beds comfy and bathroom had essentials. Only thing we did notice is the shower glass isn’t very effective as after a shower water was all over the floor. The hotel is very nice and modern, we only ate at the breakfast buffet and it was really nice a good selection of food. Loved the addition of the pool and air hokey table. Having a shop in the hotel is really good for essentials and snacks however it is very expensive in there, 2 bottles of water and a packets of crisps was $13 ( however everywhere in Amsterdam is expensive). The staff are really nice, the man at the front desk when we arrived was so welcoming and looked very happy. The hotel is in such a good location as well, a short walk to everything, no need to take the metro or a taxi. All in all was a really nice hotel in a very good location and would recommend to people!

Poor focus on guest health but excellent focus on making money.

Regime of room cleaning on 3rd day only resulted in - Dirty coffee cups in rooms day 1 never collected for 3 days . Dirty towels not collected. Shower base grubby and mold growing ( room 256 ) due to lack of disinfectant and not cleaned. Internet out of action day 3. Bed too big for room. No space for two adults suitcases for 3 day stay. No pillow or mattress protection covers - come on - why should we sleep on grubby non protected pillows ? Focus on making money in every aspect we could see. 26 euro for a bottle of wine in the un-manned, zero service hotel shop - outside the same wine cost 10 euro - come on guys - it sickened me. Great front piece of drama but nothing to entice us to return. Yes everything is a rip off in capital cities and this hotel is sadly just another one of them.

Nice area and nice view

We rented one of the family rooms in a separate building. The stairs were steep like they warn on their website so be aware if you have mobility issues. One thing I didn’t notice from the website is that the room is on two different floors. Not a big deal but it’s not as roomy and the pictures lead you to believe. Loved the view out the front window and watching the boats go down the canal. And there was a small deck off the kitchen looking over an inner courtyard that was wonderful for having a cup of coffee in the morning and a glass of wine at the end of the day. The only reason I don’t give 5 stars is that there was no door on the shower room! When renting a family room you would expect some privacy when having a shower. It was a pain having to make sure no one went upstairs to the shower room level when someone was in the shower. A door or curtain for the room would be much better!

Eco Hotel - room servicing cop out

Upon arrival we were bombarded with info about this being an Eco Hotel, however, due to a stressful time at the airport waiting for luggage (I won’t go into detail) we did not really listen to what we were being told, however, we soon learnt what this meant. On the following morning of our stay we had to ask for caffeinated coffee pods as all we had were decaffeinated pods. We got the replacement pods after 4 pm. We had dirty towels until our 3rd day and we got them changed as we had to notify a housekeeper that we were running out of toilet paper. She kindly changed the towels when replenishing what we needed. This again happened after mid afternoon. We washed our own cups and glasses in the bathroom (please note the cups are about 4 mouthfuls of tea or coffee in size as are the glasses). This Eco thing is a cop out we’ve never stayed in a hotel where you’ve had to physically ask someone for clean towels, clean cups /glasses or toilet paper. The bathroom was also extremely dark (with the lights on). We would not class this hotel as 4 star accommodation, mainly because of the Eco/we don’t want to clean your room status. Good points: the hotel is in a good location and the bed was very comfortable.
