4 day stay at Eden hotel hotel

Stayed for 4 nights to celebrate a wedding anniversary. The hotel is situated in a good location overlooking the canal with easy access to transport and canal tours . Close to Dam Square and the shopping areas. The hotel is certainly not a four star hotel in my opinion. There are quite a few negatives . I understand that in an old building rooms may not be regular size or shape so no problem there. On arrival we were informed that the hotel was eco friendly and would only be serviced on request . This to me is a cop- out as it allows them to provide a lower class of service than a four star should be giving. I can't imagine how a room for 2 people would not require towel changes at least once ( any hotels I have used would check the room and change any towels left on the floor - replenish tea and coffee with new cups ) we got no service -dirty cups and spoons . The main problem for us was that despite contacting reception four times on our second day and being assured that cups etc would be replaced immediately it only happened after a last and fairly strong phone call to a manager. ( one of the cups was not washed) At this point I requested an upgrade to compensate for the poor service -this was done and we were given a room with a canal view - this room was fine with more room. To try and avoid the problem again we asked for the room to be serviced next morning -this was not done . We had to ask for new cups which we received. The problem here seems to be poor communication between reception and cleaning staff who seem to be contractors and not direct Hotel employees with some friction between contractors and the hotel . As regards the breakfast- food was fine but was disappointed that there was no table service for teas and coffees - people queing at machines for hot drinks with people walking about with hot drinks . Due to the above I would not return to this hotel and would not recommend it.

It is all about location if you stay here

We stayed two nights in the Eden. There are definite pros and cons to choosing this hotel. Pros Very convenient location for walking in old town and taking public transportation. The room was spacious and the bed larger than an American queen and comfy The staff is friendly Cons Our room was facing a side street which was very, very noisy especially at night. #594 The room needed maintenance on several items, for example the air conditioning unit was inoperable , the dual flushing toilet only had one side that worked The cost for the room was excessive for the level of accommodation except for the location Be aware that there are no American style outlets for electricity in the room.

Eden We Love You - See You Soon

Booked this via CO for my friends birthday this hotel was amazing! got an upgrade and it was great! amazing travel - 10 mins walk from center - very cute bars and restaurants i would defo recommended, shopping mall aswell! This hotel has a pizza making section, huge bar, coffee section with a tiny convenience store which is DEFO a must when having a nice drink before bed The staff are amazing and so quick to deal with any issues you have

Lovely stay

Couldn’t fault the hotel, good location just 3 stops on tram 4 or 14 from centraal station. Lovely bars and restaurants nearby in Rembrandtsplein. Rooms clean and spacious although thr clear wall between shower and bed in ours was interesting! Breakfast plentiful and fresh.

Outstanding as usual

3rd time back at this lovely hotel. Thank you for the free upgrade. Staff always friendly and professional. Had a gluch with the aurcobs vut it was out of their hands and was sorted the following day.
