Apartments at Eden Hotel

My husband and I spent a long weekend in Amsterdam and booked the Eden Hotel. The hotel informed us a couple of days prior to check-in that the hotel was under renovation but they could offer us an apartment just next door, with a view of the canal, at no extra charge. We were delighted as the view from the room was incredible! The hotel is centrally located, at most a 25 minute walk to Museumplein, but much closer to Dam Square and the De Wallen area. Rembrandtplein is only a couple of minutes from the hotel with many dining options. I couldn't give the hotel an "excellent" rating as our room never got serviced, even though we had the "service room" sign on the door. Also, our apartment had an odd set-up in that the toilet was separated from the shower/sink area - not a huge deal, except the steps leading to the shower were steep. Other than that, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Eden.

Lived up to expectations

First time in Amsterdam, we booked this hotel after hearing positive reviews. It certainly lived up to expectations, very ideal location, close to a number of very nice restaurants, coffee shops, bars, takeaways and ice cream parlours etc. Within walking distance to a number of tourist attractions, nice facilities within the room and you felt very safe at night with a swipe card to gain entry to the hotel reception and to the lift. Slight negative, is that at the back of the hotel a tram track runs right outside the hotel, can imagine that would be a problem for “light sleepers” and on our last day, they were using power tools to fix things and ripping up the old carpet which was annoying. All in all, would come back to this hotel when visiting Amsterdam again, I thoroughly enjoyed my time over there and the hotel was great.

Received excellent service during this Covid19 Pandemic. Refunded us without any hesitation due to the lock down. They will definitely see us in 2021. Such amazing work done by the administration department.

Lovely hotel with a great breakfast opposite the National Opera and Ballet!

pros: -Convenient transportation from 2 vehicles from Schiphol Airport to the National Opera and Ballet! -The location of the hotel- In the city center,opposite the National Opera and Ballet of Amsterdam and close to many attractions in Amsterdam, -The room- has modern design, -We informed the hotel before our stay that my daughter has a birthday and upon our arrival we had a pleasant surprise: balloons with a special wish from the hotel, chocolate dessert, candies and juice. -Wonderful breakfast: bacon, sausages, omelet, various yellow cheese, boiled eggs, fresh vegetables: tomatoes, cucumbers, fresh fruits, yogurts,cornflakes,croissants, breads, honey and jams, a large selection of chilled natural juices, chilled water,milk, and a coffee machine .... There is a cook who makes omelets with various additives. - Daily cleaning and tidying up of the room, changing towels, loading of missing consumables- soaps, capsules for the coffee machine and other products, etc. -Thanks to Mariola who was cleaning our room daily. During our celebration on March 8th 2020, I felt that one earring from my favorite set was missing and I was very upset. But, Mariola had found her and putted her on our bed. Thank her from my whole heart! cons: -No water in the room (even when welcoming), there is only draft water with the breakfast -There is no mini bar in the room, but there is a vending machine with desserts, drinks and more products in the lobby. -There was no wine / champagne on welcoming (despite the description of reservation in booking.com) - if you want to get it, you have to ask the reception! - There are no bathrobes and slippers in the room, you can ask the reception for them -The bathrobes — even when opening from the nylon, their horrible/awful smell is spreading - There is low water pressure on the higher floors (like the 5th floor we were on). Therefore, the power of the shower jet was low. - A room with a inner courtyard view- The adjacent buildings are so close that without the curtains lowered, the neighbors on the opposite side would feel like they were in your room. -Reception- coldly service attitude, unallowable for a hotel with 4 stars! * Despite the small cons, we would stay again at this hotel!

Stayed 4 days here and really happy with everything, staff were really friendly and helpful, Room was nice and a nice view of the canals, Breakfast was better than expected and plenty of choice Only issue was the hotel is doing a renovation and the noise started about 9am but it has to be done I would recommend this hotel as it’s also fairly central Thanks for a welcoming visit
