The heart of Amsterdam

We had great time in Eden Hotel Amsterdam. The location was perfect. Located the heart of Amsterdam. The staff was amazing. Special thanks to Front office and concierge team. They were extreamly friendly and helpful.

Eden Hotel was convenient to restaurants and trams -- and great views

. We all liked our rooms, they are well designed, super clean, a great bathroom, and the beds are some of the most comfortable of any hotel . Our room's a/c worked fine. I booked it several months in advance due to "Tulip Season", and booked directly thruogh the hotel for a 15% discount. However, I don't believe the room was cancellable. I'd also like to say, the staff at the Eden helped me so much, when I left my passport in the safe, along with a sum of Euros. Everything was arranged so it could be brought to me by cab, (to the boat dock), and all was returned to me. That shows high integrity from whomever retrieved it . I'd definitely stay here again, and hope to. The hotel has a great location, especially being very close to Rembrandt Square, where you can pick a restaurant, or catch a tram . You can easily walk to the Flower Market for souveniers or fresh flowers. (just don't try to bring bulbs or seeds out of the country). And it's a quick tram ride to Dam Square, and the Presidential Palace, and interesting shops. One note: breakfast is 25 Euros, but does have everything one would want. Evenings, the same place is nice to have a drink . One tip for a good, inexpensive meal : walk out the back entrance, turn right, and there is a "bistro" type / casual Italian restaurant that makes excellent pizzas.

Not worth the price

The only thing this hotel has going for it is its location. The rooms are extremely small and hot and the bathroom towels are threadbare. We were in the A building, facing an alley. I assume we were given this room because I booked through booking.com and not directly with the hotel. The breakfast, ay 25 euros pp, was decent and included American and European options on its buffet. But it's expensive. As stated, the location is excellend-right on the Amstel Canal, close to all the major attractions, a major metro stop and lots of tourist restaurants. I wouldn't stay here again, at over $350 a night, you can find better options.

You ruined our mini break

We were over charged from the start , although I raised the expectation with the staff on arrival . We have evidence we were over charged by over £300 . This meant we had to budget accordingly for the rest of our stay . So , we were charged over £1000 for a pokey dark noisy room ! The air con rattled all night ! If we had known we were going to spend over £1000 we would have stayed in a better hotel. On my return I have contacted the hotel and they have returned me £250 , small compensation . We had an apology for the overcharge but no apology for the impact to our break , we were impacted as our budget was blown on arrival. No apology for that or the fact we had 3 nights sleep disturbed by a rattling air con This was my second visit and my last . I have been going to Amsterdam for over 10 years every year and this was by far my worst experience .

Eden Hotel Amsterdam - May 2023.

Good hotel with comfortable rooms, friendly and helpful staff and reasonable pricing. Location is very convenient for points of interest (e.g. Rijksmuseum / Van Gogh museums) also area has a good choice of restaurants and other hospitality venues. Easy to get to the hotel from around the city and the main railway station.
