Perfect spot! Beautiful rooms

Beautiful hotel. Clean and spacious! Would highly recommend and will certainly be back. Front desk staff was super accommodating as my husband is a type 1 diabetic. They stored his insulin for us in the fridge and provided anything we asked for.

Only 3 Stars

For a 4 star hotel we found the breakfast poor. The hot buffet breakfast consisted of small sausages, baked scrambled eggs and poor quality bacon. Any other type of cooked eggs were not available. If you have experienced breakfast at a premier Inn, (Budget Hotel) there food is far superior to this offering despite being only 3 star. On the plus side the Continental breakfast was good.

The Second Time Around

My husband and I first went to Eden Hotel in 1982 and had a wonderful time. Unfortunately, we didn't have that great experience this visit. We stayed in the Canal view apartment, which we didn't know was not part of the hotel, but a building away. Warning you must be in good shape to stay there because there are Dutch steps. The room was beautiful with a lovely view of the canal. Since we were staying 4 nights we were looking forward to unpacking, but there were no dressers. Even though we requested daily cleaning, out first day we didn't get it, so each day we had to remind them. Also the shower didn't have any shelves, and the soap and shampoo bottles were on the floor. There was no amenities like body moisturizer. Being in a different building from the hotel felt like a total disconnect. We saw a lot of people getting help with their luggage in the hotel, I asked about it and was told when we were leaving just call the front desk and they will send someone over. When I did I was told they would see if anyone had the time. I replied that this was not acceptable, I was not going to carry our luggage down those steep steps. Suddenly, they found someone who had the time. My advice when booking pick a room that is in the hotel.

Greater expectations than the reality

Windows could not be opened so there was always a smell of humidity The room was always very cold due to the a/c and the heat wasn't working They said they would fix it but nothing happened... Also the room was never been cleaned The room service didn't come during the 3 days that I stayed not even to change the baskets Fortunately I was travelling alone and I could keep my room in great shape
